Newport Recreation on Land
There is much to SEE in Newport, RI, but even more to DO! Either
on land or on the water, there is something for everyone. On land,
there is the Norman Bird Sanctuary is great place for hiking and

Newport is a tennis town - a must-see is the Tennis
Hall of Fame and
there are several public tennis courts in Newport as well. There
is horseback riding on the Beach year round offered by the Newport
Equestrian Academy. And regardless of the time of year, Newport
has several beautiful beaches to be enjoy.
Newport Recreation on the Water
Newport has no shortage of activties on the water either. In
the summertime, an absolute must is getting out on the water. Sail
Newport offers a variety of sailing programs for every skill
level. There is also jetskiing in Newport, kayaking and canoeing in
the harbor, parasailing and several options for harbor tours.
Narragansett Bay offers incredible diving opportunities. Second
beach is known for surfing and Third Beach is great for
windsurfing.
