Newport RI Beaches and Parks

Newport Rhode Island and the surrounding communities of Newport County have a wide variety of breathtaking beaches. From the expansive sand dune and beach-grass-backed Second Beach to the smaller, more lagoon-like Gooseberry Beach of Ocean Drive, Newport beaches are a wonderful place to spend time. What you should know: Most beaches have ample parking for a fee, lifeguards on duty and concession stands.

Best kept secret: The beach located at the end of Bellevue Avenue and beginning of Ocean Drive is known as Reject Beach and it is absolutely beautiful. It abuts Bailey's Beach Club and although there are no services or parking at this beach, it is a clean and small beach. To get to Reject Beach, take the Yellow Line Trolley to the end of the route.
